GFA Reported 5 Betting Companies
GFA (Ghana Football Association) Send 5 Betting Companies Reports to Gaming Commission
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reported the conduct of gambling companies to the Gambling Commission. The gambling platforms identified in the GFA report were placing illegal bets on matches organised and approved by the Ghana Football Association.
The Football Association has requested the Gambling Commission for urgent assistance to investigate the companies and take appropriate measures to ensure that they stop offering unlicensed betting services on the Association’s matches.
The Ghana Gambling Commission is responsible for issuing licenses to all gambling operators as well as permits to companies and individuals wishing to conduct promotions that include a gambling element.
Gambling companies reported to the Gambling Commission include Soccabet, Sportybet, Football.com and Ilobet.
The misuse of GFA match data for betting purposes by the above companies infringes on the legal rights of the association and is a clear breach of rules and regulations.
The GFA has a strict policy against unlicensed betting on football matches as such acts pose a grave threat to the integrity of the match and tarnish the reputation of the association.

It will be recalled that President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku issued a stern warning to betting companies operating in the country during the 30th Parliamentary meeting held at the Ghanaman Football Centre of Excellence, the technical centre of the GFA.
He explained that no betting company has the authority to offer odds on Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches.
The President stressed that the GFA legal department will soon take action against betting companies that continue to include GPL games in their offers.
“We have not issued any license to any betting office to accept bets on our matches,” President Simeon Okraku said at the 30th Ordinary Congress held in Pram on August 27, 2024. “We have not issued any license to any betting office to accept bets on our matches,” Okraku said, addressing the issue directly. It is not good for betting shops to make a living from our football.”
The GFA president made it clear that the association is open to partnering with betting shops, but only if they comply with the necessary regulations.
