Tragedy Strikes as 4 Die in East Legon Accident Dwaine Clarke
Four unidentified people died in a fatal accident on Saturday evening at East Legon, Accra. A fatal crash involving a number of vehicles which were burnt to ashes on the scene saw rescue operation personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service working in hazardous conditions in an attempt to retrieve deceased victims.
Details about what caused the accident are still unclear. A video shared on the GNFS Facebook page showed firefighters struggling to cut through mangled and burnt vehicles, as thick smoke continued to rise from the wreckage.
The recovery is very slow, given the limited equipment that has been involved in the efforts to remove the bodies. The scene is still under investigation, with more updates as information becomes available.
