Isi Palazón: “This team has character and we have shown it”

Madrid, Dec 14 (EFE).- Isi Palazón, a Rayo Vallecano player and scorer of one of his team’s three goals against Real Madrid, said on Saturday that his team showed “enough pride and character” to overcome their rival’s comeback when they were winning 2-0.

Rayo, with goals from Unai López, Abdul Mumin and Isi Palazón, tied this Saturday in Vallecas in an electric derby in which they were winning 2-0, then came back to 2-3 and ended up equalizing the result.

“It was a great game. We lacked legs in the second half against an all-powerful Real Madrid but we have to be happy with this team. When you have a result in your favour of two goals and you see that they come back it is difficult but this team has enough character to overcome and they have shown it,” said Isi, in statements to Movistar+.

“I’m proud of this team. When we have to defend, we defend and today the fans have encouraged us and shown their commitment. We’ve earned another point that brings us closer to our goal,” he concluded.
