Manchester City Secure Hard-Fought 2-0 Win Against Leicester

At long last, Manchester City prevailed with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Leicester in Sunday afternoon action and posted their first away Premier League win since October. Savinho and Erling Haaland scored the very critical goals in this eventual winning cause, while marking manager Pep Guardiola’s 500th game for his team.
It was City’s second victory in the Premier League in 10 matches to finally snap out of a dire streak of form. Savinho opened the scoring in the first half, tapping in a rebound from close range. Erling Haaland sealed it in the 74th minute, heading home a precise cross from Savinho to double the visitors’ lead.
Leicester’s Persistent Threat
Despite the defeat, Leicester gave a good account of themselves throughout the match. Jamie Vardy was close to giving the home side an early lead, but City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega came up with an important one-on-one save to deny the veteran striker. Facundo Buonanotte also hit the post with a header shortly after Savinho’s opener.
In the second half, Leicester continued in the chase for an equalizer, as Vardy had yet another golden opportunity to make it all square, which he again sent over the top bar following a superbly delivered cross from Stephy Mavididi.
Relief for City, Agony for Leicester
The goal from Haaland took off some pressure from City and secured a result desperately needed while extending Leicester’s losing streak in the Premier League to four games on the trot. This was just what the doctor ordered for Guardiola’s team to somehow get them going again in the league.
